I want to relax all day under a tree with a tall glass of ice lemonade and write with the cool wind on my brows and the sand beneath my toes. I want to relax all day under a tree with a tall glass of ice lemonade and write with the cool wind on my brows and the sand beneath my toes. I'm old school so I still sleep with pen and paper on my nightstand. By paper, I mean bills, the back of an envelope, receipts or whatever I can find to record my thoughts. I started writing when I was about thirteen years old. I was an only child. I guess you can say that I was alone and pretty secluded. My wild imagination allowed me to create characters who would never ever talk to me in the real world. As I got older, I started to write poetry to help me express what I was feeling at that moment in my life. Some places were really dark. Other places were angry. Love? Very few and far in between. What can I say? I was a moody teen. I crafted the perfect Prince Charming in my head and went on a lifelong quest to find him. Was there a happy ending? I do write about that adventure in Ancree A Ton Port - Anchored to Your Harbor. Perhaps you will find the answer to your question there. I must warn you that I Love You so Much That I Hate You! is a pre-teen, profanity laced, corny book of poetry. Meh! It was my first book. I was an amateur. But you may surprisingly get inspired from some the positive entries there. Timeless Trilogies, Three Generations | Three Authors are bio essays written by my grandmother me and my son. Not sure if "bio essay" is a real genre, but it sounds good. Right? Each of us writes about the same topics from our perspective generations.
A lot of folks say that there is a thin line between "fact and fiction." My work is real truths viewed through my lens.
Do you all know how excited I am that you are on my page right now? We are so close to being in the same space and time. :-)

There are a lot of people who influenced me. I look up to the women in my family for inspiration. My mom is my inspiration. I wish I were half as amazing as she is. My grandmother completed ten years of school and raised her family. She became a nurses aid and helped care for others. All ten of her children went to college. Most of her grandchildren have advanced degrees.
My grandfather completed six years of school and was a WW2 vet. His service inspired other family members to serve.
There are friends who influence me and they encourage me to never give up. There are friends who deceived me and there were friends who pushed me to keep going. I have learned valuable lessons from them all.
My son played a huge role in my decision to return to school to complete both of my degrees. I hope that I am as much of an inspiration to him as he is to me.
You all inspire me. Strangers that I have met in my travels and those of you that I yet to meet in the future. I am inspired by your drive and ambition. I read about your struggles, triumphs and heartbreaks. I listen and I tell your stories.
YOU are why I keep writing!
